Message campaigns

Send proactive WhatsApp messages to your customers with automatic triggers, compliant with Meta's rules.

Campaigns send proactive messages to your customers over WhatsApp automatically: reminders, re-engaging inactive customers, or post-sale follow-ups. The campaign engine respects all WhatsApp rules (the 24-hour window) so your number is never blocked.

How they work

A campaign has a trigger and a message. The system evaluates it periodically and sends the message when the conditions are met.

Trigger type What it does Example
INACTIVITY Contacts customers who haven't written in N days "Hi {{name}}, we miss you — book your appointment"
TIME_BASED Sends at a scheduled time Weekly schedule reminder
POST_CONVERSION Follows up after a booking or purchase "How was your massage? Leave us a review"

In the message you can use variables like {{name}} or {{last_topic}} — they are replaced with each customer's data.

Step 1 — Create the campaign

Go to Campaigns in the dashboard, choose your bot and create a new campaign: name, trigger type, configuration (e.g. days of inactivity) and the message.

Step 2 — WhatsApp compliance (automatic)

This is the important part, and it's automatic:

  • Messages are only sent within each customer's 24-hour window (Meta only allows free-form messages there).
  • If a customer is outside the window, the campaign skips them (skipped_window) — unless you configure a Meta-approved template as fallbackTemplate, which can start the conversation.
  • maxSendsPerUser limits how many times the same customer receives the campaign.

Step 3 — Track results

Each campaign records totalSent / totalFailed, and every individual send (status, error if any) is kept in the campaign history.

::note
Campaigns complement your bot, they don't replace it: first serve incoming conversations well; then use campaigns to re-engage and follow up.
